GMA (Good Morning America) meteorologist, Sam Champion has long held morning fans’ hearts. Now, he is kicking off a new job but where exactly is he going? What is Sam up to now and will viewers still have access to him? Read on for more details on Sam’s new position.

GMA What Is Sam Champion’s New Job?

Sam Champion has been a staple of GMA since 2006. He has brought the weather to people around the world for nearly two decades thanks to that platform. Though he did take a brief hiatus when he went over to The Weather Channel but eventually returned to his roots. This seemed like a great relief to those who loved Sam as he had a great comradery with his co-anchors. Then, he gained a whole new audience when he danced on Season 31 of DWTS with Cheryl Burke. Though he was a fan favorite, he did get voted off, sadly but always kept his bright smile and positive energy.

Now, Sam Champion is leaving GMA behind but where is he headed? According to The Sun, he will be a part of the Eyewitness News crew. The spot he, Mike Marza, Shirleen Allicot, and Dani Beckstrom will be in was actually Tamron Hall’s. However, she is being moved so it will be a Champion of a morning. Friday, September 15th, he gave an update via Twitter.

Fans seemed really excited about the new venture and tuning in, as well.

Sam Champion may have left his spot at GMA but he is still very connected to his family there. He shared celebratory love from Robin Roberts and Amber Laign’s wedding. Champion seemed to be truly elated to be able to be a part of this momentous occasion which was a long time coming.
