World News Tonight anchor David Muir, 52, updated viewers about the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie, 84, who is believed to have serious health issues and a pacemaker.

The mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, 54, was reported missing from her residence in Catalina Foothills, Arizona, on Sunday. She was last seen on Saturday, January 31, at around 9:30 pm at her home near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue. Search and rescue teams are actively looking for Nancy, who may have been abducted while she was sleeping.

The investigation revealed there were indications of forced entry at the residence and multiple personal belongings, including Nancy’s cellphone, wallet, medications, and vehicle, were all still at her property.

During Wednesday’s broadcast on ABC, Muir emphasized to audiences that a “sense of urgency is increasing by the hour,” due to “the immediate concerns about her health.” Savannah’s mother has been reported missing for nearly four days as of now.

“Nancy Guthrie, with serious health issues, including high blood pressure and a pacemaker,” he said. “The clues that could come from that pacemaker.”

While playing audio from dispatch, an image appeared on the screen listed, “Nancy has high blood pressure, pacemaker, and cardiac issues.”

“Guthrie’s pacemaker appears to have been disconnected from its monitoring app early Sunday,” he mentioned.

Muir closed the segment saying, “While we work at different networks, we are all thinking about Savannah and her mother.”

Following Nancy’s disappearance, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos voiced concerns that she depends on her daily medication, which was left at home. Without her meds, Guthrie’s life could possibly be in danger.

Despite his concerns, Nanos remained optimistic as he said, “We have nothing else to go on but the belief that she is here.”

“She’s present. She’s alive, and we want to save her,” the sheriff added.

Although the NBC star has been absent from her anchoring duties on Today, Savannah has expressed gratitude to everyone who has been assisting her family. She urged people to keep her mother in their prayers for her safe return.
