Joy Behar left Jamie Lee Curtis speechless during her whirlwind interview on The View Tuesday (Dec. 2) morning.
Curtis was visiting the Hot Topics table to promote her new movie Ella McKay when she shared that she learned how to spatchcock a turkey this Thanksgiving. Behar did not seem particularly interested as Curtis went into detail about the “gross and violent” process, even going so far as to suggest, “Let’s drop this whole topic.” But Curtis and Behar’s hilarious banter did not end there.

Behar later cracked a naughty joke about Curtis and her husband, filmmaker Christopher Guest. When asking about her role as Donna Berzatto in the award-winning FX series The Bear, Behar asked if she had to “learn how to cook, besides spatchcocking.”
“You know, I am a marital cook,” Curtis responded. “I’m a maternal cook, meaning I did not learn.”
Before she could explain what she meant, Behar quipped, “She spatchcocks her husband.”
The comment left Curtis momentarily speechless as the audience laughed and applauded. “We should go on the road, babe,” Curtis commented as the applause died down. After another beat of silence, she then added, “Um, wow. I’m actually blushing and I don’t blush.”
Sunny Hostin attempted to get the interview back on track by asking Curtis if they should discuss Ella McKay.
“Thank you, Sunny,” Curtis responded.

But it seems like Curtis and Behar were able to end the interview on the right foot as Curtis later took her hand and smiled at her.
It’s always a wild ride when Curtis stops by The View. In 2024, the actress brought presents for the hosts and proclaimed she was “Scrooge’s slightly slutty sister,” prompting Behar to chime in and ask, “Slightly?”
“Hey now!” Curtis responded. “I’m an old married lady, as you know. Back in the [day], you know. But you know, I am a little Scrooge-y.”
The playful energy between Curtis and Behar didn’t stop after the turkey jokes. As the interview continued, Behar couldn’t resist poking fun at Curtis’s reputation for deadpan humor and her sharp wit, asking whether her characters ever mirrored her own “mischievous streak.” Curtis laughed, admitting that while she draws from life, she often amplifies quirks for comedic effect.

The audience seemed to hang on every word as the two traded barbs, each comeback sharper and funnier than the last. Curtis even managed to throw in a sly reference to her earlier comment about being a “maternal cook,” joking that she only cooks “when threatened with starvation or marital duty.” Behar, not missing a beat, fired back, “Ah, so spatchcocking your husband is mandatory then?” This sent the crowd into another round of laughter.
Despite the teasing, there was a warm camaraderie that came through. Curtis and Behar shared smiles and light touches, showing that underneath the jokes was genuine affection and mutual respect. By the end, Curtis had seamlessly promoted Ella McKay while leaving viewers laughing and charmed by her playful side.
It’s clear that whenever Curtis visits The View, fans can expect an unpredictable mix of humor, honesty, and celebrity banter that makes every episode memorable.
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
