Robin Roberts Will Team Up With David Muir & Other ABC Alumni
To many, Roberts is best known as a co-anchor for ABC’s Good Morning America. She first joined the network in 1995.
Beforehand, Roberts was known for working as a sportscaster for ESPN. She served in this role for around 15 years.

Recently, an announcement was made concerning another upcoming project with ABC involving Roberts: her 15th annual year-end special. She and a number of familiar faces will look back at the past 12 months with The Year: 2025.
As ABC shared in a recent release, Roberts will be joined by a number of ABC News alumni. These include David Muir, Michael Strahan, Linsey Davis, and Sunny Hostin.
There will also be interviews with various special guests. These will include The Jonas Brothers, WNBA camp A’Ja Wilson, Dancing with the Stars champ Robert Irwin, KPop Demon Hunters voice actor Ji-young Yoo, Sinners star Miles Canton, and Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Whitney Leavitt and Jessi Draper.
Roberts Also Talked About What Viewers Can Expect During The Year: 2025
The special will look at multiple events that made headlines in 2025. This will include events that helped define pop culture throughout the year, from the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement.
The special will also give attention to a variety of historic events, like the election of the first American pope and the California wildfires. Some light will also be shed on a few of the internet’s biggest memes and viral stories, from the Labubu toyline to the infamous “six-seven” catchphrase.

According to ABC Audio, as shared by Y! Entertainment, Roberts herself talked about what fans could expect from the upcoming special. She shared, “It’s just trying to get a sense from folks, what have you remembered?”
Roberts touched on wanting to highlight stories that are no longer in the headlines but made an impact, like the wildfires. However, she also wanted to touch on some lighter moments.
As Roberts noted, “It’s the holidays. You want a moment to exhale and breathe. So I just love the mixture that we bring to the year.” She also took time to thank the “fabulous team of producers” for helping her bring the show together, calling them “the best in the field.”
The Year: 2025 will air on Monday, December 29, from 8 to 10 PM EST on ABC. It will be available for streaming the following day on Disney+ and Hulu.
