George may be a beloved host at GMA. But that doesn’t mean that fans weren’t thrilled to welcome his replacement this week. Whit filled in for George while he was away from the desk, and fans have taken to online forums to show their appreciation. George Recently Shocked Fans With On-Air Goodbye
George recently shocked fans with an on-air goodbye that they did not expect. He revealed that a long-time and valued member of the ABC family was leaving the show.
The 62-year-old host shared with viewers that their long-time colleague, Scott Snyder, was leaving GMA. George shared the news while surrounded by co-hosts Deborah Roberts, Rebecca Jarvis, Lara Spencer, and Ginger Zee. The host explained that the entire GMA family wanted to say goodbye to Scott and thank him for his 44 years at ABC.
As a camera operator, Scott was there for the show’s moments, both big and small. According to George, he started every single day with a smile. While his presence will be sorely missed in the studio, he’s leaving behind a legacy of camaraderie and excellence.
And fans of George can breathe a deep sigh of relief because he is not joining Scott in retirement. At least, not yet.
GMA Host George Stephanopoulos Replaced By The Sexy Whit Johnson
Any time the hosts are out, fans immediately begin speculating that they have left the show. It happened again when George Stephanopoulos was absent this week. But his absence also sparked a new kind of buzz: appreciation for his fill-in host.
While he was gone, George was replaced by Whit Johnson, who is definitely a fan favorite. Whenever he appears, fans flood online forums with comments about how “sexy” he is. They wrote that they were glad he was on the show, and he brought a new “sophistication” to the lineup. While George is beloved, he doesn’t inspire the same flood of appreciation that Whit does. Of course, appreciation for Whit doesn’t mean people want to see George leave the show. George has been on GMA since 2009. Through the years, he has carved out a place for himself at the news table. Fans maybe be able to talk producers into giving Whit a seat at the table permanently. But it likely won’t be in George’s chair.
