Replaced by a familiar GMA face

On Friday, April 15, Robin Roberts went missing from GMA. A familiar face replaced her during the broadcast. Eva Pilgrim sat at the round desk with Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos. She usually co-hosts GMA: Weekend Edition and fills in for the main co-anchors throughout the week.

They talked about the record rainfall that hit Southern Florida. The GMA crew also talked about the other headlines of the day, including The GMA Buzz Pick and The Wall Street Journal’s Evan Gerskovich. This was the fourth Friday that Robin Roberts went missing from the morning show.

She hasn’t shared a reason for her absence. Fans have expressed their concern about her on social media. Michael previously went missing from the morning show without a reason. He returned on Tuesday, April 11. It’s unclear when Robin Roberts will return to the show. 

Fans are holding out hope that she will make her big return on Monday. They love seeing her on the show and watching her daily morning message and prayer with her Glam Fam. Before her absence, Robin took part in a heated debate with Sam Champion about grilled cheese. Fans enjoy watching their banter on the show.

Robin Roberts breaks her silence

Robin Roberts shared where she’s been hiding lately. She took to Instagram to share her “special place” with her fans. The ABC television host shared a photo of the sunset in Key West. She also added the animated neon GIF: “TGIF.”

Robin followed up with another post. This time, she posed with her crew and her partner Amber Laign. All of them flashed a smile at the camera. Robin looked happy and relaxed during her time away.

“Great way to thank my fabu #teamRR..treating them & their significant others to our happy place!” Robin Roberts wrote on the photo posted on her Instagram Story. “(sweet Amber took the pic.)”

She shared even more photos on her Instagram Stories. There was one of the groups headed to two individual tikis. Next, they went on a cruise. Robin Roberts rounded out her photos with the message: “Oh what a night.” Last month, she went away from the show for an “inspiring” trip. She also hinted that she had an “especially challenging week.”
