NEW YEAR CRINGE: Karoline Leavitt Mocked for Trying to Brush Off Controversies in “Fresh Start” Message — Critics Pounce

Karoline Leavitt spent New Year’s Eve reflecting on 2025 as she took to Instagram to share a round up of her year with fans, but critics were quick to jump in the comments

Karoline Leavitt was branded a clown as she shared a social media post to honor the New Year.

The 28-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday, December 31, to take a look back at 2025. She shared a video made up of clips from across the year. The video began with a clip from her wedding to Nicholas Riccio, who is 32 years her senior.

It also included snapshots of Donald Trump and press briefings, as well as a look into Karoline’s life as a mom. The White House Press Secretary shares her one-year-old son Nicholas “Niko” Robert Riccio with her husband.

Captioning the Instagram post, Karoline wrote, “2025, wow! What a year. Married the love of my life, moved our little family to DC, conquered one year on the job as White House Press Secretary, traveled the world with the President of the United States, made lifelong memories with coworkers who have become family, and most importantly, soaked up every second watching my little baby boy grow into a toddler.

“Safe to say it’s been a year that I will never forget. Thank you JESUS for all of these blessings and for all those you already have in store for 2026. Happy New Year!”

While Karoline tried to ignore some of the dramas that have followed her recently, her critics didn’t have the same idea. One person fumed in the comments, “Not a good role model. Ew!”

Another asked, “Why don’t you quit already and just be a stay-at-home mom most people can’t stand you,” while a third person accused, “Told lie after lie after lie after lie after lie after lie after after lie after lie after lie….”

One furious critic wrote, “Lying your fake Christian butt off and deceiving America behind Botox filled lips, a dead inside eyes. Happy New Year! KKKAROLINE,” as someone else simply left a row of clown emojis in the comments.

Karoline managed to spark a lot of backlash in the weeks before her New Year’s Eve message. She made headlines when a picture of her was released by Vanity Fair, with the image going viral on social media.

The picture was a close-up portrait of Karoline and it was shared by the magazine on Instagram. Some people accused Karoline of getting lip filler, with one person commenting, “Damn did they put the filler in her lip 10 minutes before the photo????”

Another critic suggested, “The makeup artist HATED her. not only did they not cover up her lip filler marks, they highlighted them.” A third asked, “Are those lip line scars from injections?” Karoline has not spoken out about the accusations and there is no confirmation that she has undergone any cosmetic procedures.

In the weeks before the Vanity Fair piece, Karoline also opened up about feeling “mom guilt,” admitting she sometimes struggles to juggle her career with her family. She shared, “Every mother understands the demands,” as she admitted. “No matter where you are, what you’re doing, there’s always a sense of guilt.”

Opening up about her relentless work ethic, Karoline said, “I think that value of hard work and determination and drive was instilled in me in a very young age, just by watching my parents work so hard to earn a living.”
