Actor Jerry O’Connell, 51, who starred in Reiner’s classic 1986 coming-of-age film Stand By Me during his childhood, addressed Rob and Michele’s heartbreaking demise during his appearance on CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live With Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.

“You know it’s been very emotional for everyone, who knew or everyone who touched rob. Even you Anderson, like you know what impact he had to everyone around him. It’s been very emotional,” Jerry said. “I’ve been reaching out to people…we were all close with… it’s just a very emotional time. It’s so tragic that it happened over the holidays. I have to tell you to be honest…I’m still sort of going through it I think we all are…It’s just a tough time.”

Rob and Michele were murdered at the ages of 78 and 70, respectively, in their home in Los Angeles, California, on December 15. Their 28-year-old daughter Romy, 28, found them with their “throats slashed.” Nick, 32, has since been charged with their murders.

Nick has been held in jail without bail following his arrest near a USC campus in Los Angeles just hours after he allegedly committed the murders.

Harvey Weinstein’s ex-lawyer Alan Jackson has been employed by Nick to defend him during his first court hearing. Nick didn’t enter a plea for the charges.

Reportedly, Nick got into a spat with his parents at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas Party just hours before they were killed.

According to multiple sources, Rob and Nick were in a “very loud” and “explosive” shouting match at the party, with the family leaving the event early because of the situation.

Additionally, Nick also was reported to have gotten into an argument with actor Bill Hader, 47, at the party, as witnesses claimed that Nick acted erratically, “freaking everyone out” and “staring at attendees.”

Judge Deidre Hill has sealed the autopsies of Michele and Rob on December 29 at the request of LAPD detectives.
