Police are investigating Nancy Guthrie’s house staff in the wake of new information surrounding her disappearance. Employees, including her landscaper and pool cleaner, were swabbed for DNA.

Nancy, mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on January 31 when her son-in-law drove her home from a family dinner. She was reported missing around noon on February 1. Since Nancy’s disappearance, Savannah and her siblings have shared multiple videos pleading for the safe return of their mother.

Authorities performed their first DNA test concerning Nancy’s disappearance after blood drops were found on her porch outside of her home. The blood was determined to be Nancy’s. It comes after an ex-FBI agent revealed the hidden codeword that Savannah used in her message to the kidnappers.

On February 10, FBI Director Kash Patel released CCTV footage of an armed person at Nancy’s house. Neither Guthrie’s family nor authorities recognized the subject pictured.

“Working with our partners – as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” wrote Patel on X.

Photos and videos from a Nest security camera show a person approaching Nancy’s home while wearing a mask, large gloves and a backpack. The subject appears to try to obscure the camera, approaching it with a piece of foliage.

Savannah shared the black and white camera footage to her Instagram, writing, “Someone out there recognizes this person. We believe she is still out there. Bring her home.”

She included the phone numbers for both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities have yet to identify any suspects.

The video shows the subject holding something in his left hand. NBC News correspondent Tom Winter remarked that”“it appeared to be a gun.”

The CCTV footage was released after a deadline set by an unverified ransom letter, which demanded millions of dollars in Bitcoin,  passed on 5 p.m. on Monday, February 9. The alleged note was received by TMZ on February 4.

In a video shared by Savannah to social media, she and her siblings stated, “This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”  The Today host called her mother’s missing status a “nightmare” as her family admitted they are at “an hour of desperation. There has been no proof of life provided thus far from Nancy’s alleged kidnapper.

The FBI is currently offering a $50,000 reward for any information leading to the “recovery of Nancy or the arrest and/or conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”
