Saying goodbye to loved ones is hard. GMA host Deborah Roberts recently shared a heartbreaking moment with her fans. And it was centered on an emotional goodbye to someone she loves. Read on to find out who Deborah said goodbye to, and why.

Deborah And Al Share Two Children

Deborah Roberts is married to another titan in the morning talk show world, Al Roker. The dynamic duo has been married for 28 years now. Fans often call Al and Deborah “the cutest couple” due to their adorable way of showing love to each other in public, and it’s clear that the Roker family appreciates all of the time they spend together. Especially after Al was sick last year with blood clots in his legs and lungs. Deborah said of the harrowing brush with a health crisis that she didn’t know if her husband would survive to see the holidays. But he not only survived, he has thrived.

Al has a 36-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, Courtney. And the loving couple shares two adult children: Nick Roker and Leila Roker. Nick recently turned 21, and his father took to social media to brag about his only son, leaving fans with teary eyes. Nick lives close to home, but his sister lives a different life. Their daughter, Leila, is 24, and she’s somewhat of a jet-setter. She studied journalism in Paris, then took a job that allowed her to continue her career in France. She has spent time working in Japan but calls France her home.

Which means that she lives very, very far from her loving mother and father.

Emotional GMA Host Deborah Roberts Bids Goodbye to Beloved Family Member

Deborah Roberts recently took to Instagram to share her heartbreak at having to say goodbye to Laila once again.

The eldest child of Deborah and Al spent the summer visiting her parents in New York. But with summer coming to a close, it was time for her return trip to Europe. In one post online, Deborah shared the smiling faces of herself, Laila, Al, and Nick as they dined together at a restaurant. But it was a second photo that inspired an emotional caption.

In that pic, Deborah took a selfie of herself and the other three as they drove in a car with their dog along for the ride. She captioned the image, “And that’s it. Our #summer visit with our baby girl has come to an end.” She later wrote, “Missing @cleilapatra already. Even as adults… still hard to let go and hug goodbye. Anyone else know the feeling? #family.”

And with that, she wished her oldest daughter goodbye yet again.
