A protester dressed in a full-body pickle costume became the focal point of Fox News coverage Friday as demonstrations continued outside a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement building.
Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin reported live from the scene to host Jesse Watters, describing the ongoing protests against ICE operations in Minnesota.
“There’s still a crowd of probably about 100 people out here despite the fact that when the winds kick up, it’s probably going into what feels like negative degree temperatures,” Melugin said during the broadcast.
“Essentially, what’s happening right now every time, Jesse, is they wait for a federal car to come out, then they yell at it.”
As Melugin delivered his report, Fox News cameras shifted focus to capture a close-up view of a costumed demonstrator.

“We’re starting to see kind of what we saw in Portland. Camera man will zoom in here,” Melugin said as the shot transitioned from a wide view of the crowd to center on the pickle-clad protester.
“Some of the folks are starting to show up in costumes. There’s a guy out here dressed up in what looks like a pickle costume, Jesse. He is mocking the federal vehicles as they come out.”
The network displayed a chyron reading “Frozen Pickle Yells At ICE” as footage showed the costumed individual.
“Watch out for that pickle, Melugin,” Watters said as the segment concluded.
The pickle protester was not the only Minnesota-related story drawing attention to ICE operations Friday evening.
Earlier in the day, reports noted that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, both Democrats, are being investigated by the Department of Justice.
The investigation centers on allegations that the two officials conspired to obstruct ICE activities in the state.
The protests stem from the shooting death of Good, which occurred last week during an ICE operation.
