An insider revealed to Page Six that Rob was banned from the studio after making a colleague feel uncomfortable. The source claimed that he did something “improper” and is not allowed to re-enter the studio as a result. Further details about this situation weren’t made public, so it’s unclear what exactly happened.
Despite being banned from the studio in New York, he still has his job as a meteorologist. He simply provides weather coverage from outside the studio.

Not long after being banned from the GMA studio, Rob is back with another career change. On Instagram this week, Rob shared a big update with GMA viewers. He opened up about the many changes going on behind the scenes. In his post, he also included a professional photo of himself in a suit and tie.
Rob explained, “This month marks the start of my 10th year with ABC News, and I couldn’t be more pumped to continue this journey with all of you.”
The GMA meteorologist wrote, “I always dreamed of working for this network as a kid, and my children are equally psyched that I will now be home most weekends! I’ll continue doing what I’m doing, contributing across all ABC shows and platforms Mon-Fri, while getting more quality time with my kiddos.” This will allow him to spend more time with his kids on the weekends. He has two young kids, Madelynn, 11, and Mason, 5.
He gave his bosses a shoutout for accommodating more of a work-life balance. Then, he teased another big change in the works. The weatherman said, “I’m also grateful for an exciting new project with NatGeo that has me exploring some very very cool stuff… more to come!”
