Recently, it was reported by Radar Online that the show could soon face an overhaul. Citing the show’s battle for ratings against Today, inside sources reported even Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, described as “sacred names” by the outlet, could be swapped out in the near future.
As the sources noted, “If leadership wants a shake‑up, nobody is safe.” The discussion also brings up the question of who could be filling in their slots on the show.
The insiders warned that the higher-ups might want to bring in “fresh, younger energy” amid a total anchor reshuffle.
There has been some speculation that other staff members from Good Morning America could take over their roles. The outlet previously shared, “Lara and Ginger both want story ownership, and there’s only so much spotlight,” which has caused some speculation on their current roles. However, this was regarding to their current work on the show, claiming that “everyone wants to be Robin’s favorite.”
