During an appearance on Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend in November 2025, he shared, “I’ve had a number of things, the stroke was one of them. I get these things, but I seem to be able to get out of them. They give you a wake-up call.”
Merely seven days following his stroke, which he termed a “health hiccup”, he announced he had regained his ability to play guitar, despite temporarily losing function in one arm. Brian also suffered a heart attack in 2020.
Initially brushing it off as a gardening-related mishap, Brian now recognizes he “could have died.” In the aftermath of his medical emergency, he underwent a procedure to have three stents – small tubes designed to maintain open blocked arteries – inserted into his heart, aiding his recuperation.
