TODAY’S Sheinelle Jones has revealed she called emergency personnel after getting trapped on a New York City train for several hours.

The news anchor opened up about the scary ordeal on Monday’s broadcast of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.

Sheinelle’s co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, 44, encouraged her to tell the story, which happened after she fell asleep during a nighttime train ride.

She shared that she was on the 9:00pm train heading home to Moynihan, New York, when she closed her eyes for a nap.

“I got a little sleepy because I’d had a long day, and so I fell asleep,” the TV star, who’s been caring for her three children as a single mother since her husband Uche Ojeh’s death last May, explained.

“And then, you know, you stop moving, but you feel like, oh, it’s probably because it’s not time. And we’re not in Moynihan. We’re not in New York City,” Sheinelle, 47, continued.

Well, I was supposed to get in around, I don’t know, like 10:00[pm] or something, I don’t know.

“Well, I woke up, and there was no one on the train,” she revealed.

Jenna reacted with wide eyes, saying, “That is a nightmare.”

“And I checked my phone and guess what time it was?” Sheinelle asked her co-host before revealing she’d awoken at 12:20am.

Gasps could be heard from the live studio audience about the apparent time jump since Sheinelle first fell asleep.

“And let me tell you something, there was no one there,” the TV personality described the scene.

She and Jenna then expressed their surprise that none of the other passengers or any of the Amtrak workers bothered to wake her.

Sheinelle explained that she calmly scanned the long train for someone to acknowledge that she was still onboard, but no one was there.

She said it wasn’t until she tried to open the door that she realized she was “stuck” on the train.

“I go over to the door, and I’m like, there’s a red button. And I’m like, Oh, it’s not opening. And then I like, try to pry the door open, and then it hits me after a few minutes, like, oh, I’m stuck on the train,” Sheinelle shared.

The journalist revealed that she called 911 for help, despite being worried that her call would end up circulating in the media.

Upon explaining the “embarrassing” situation to the 911 dispatcher, Sheinelle revealed that police arrived within 11 minutes to rescue her.

She also said she didn’t go unnoticed as the officers immediately recognized her and asked to take selfies, which she obliged.

Fans reacted to the terrifying incident on social media.

“OMG…glad you made it out safely. That’s wild,” one person wrote on Instagram.

“There is something very wrong with this. Suppose there was a fire on the train,” said another.

“So, they don’t do a walk through to make sure no one was left on the train before they shut it down?” asked another.

“Sheinelle in the future please travel with a companion,” urged a third.
