Actress Jamie Lee Curtis gave a bold anti-ICE speech at a non-profit event claiming that their recent actions have been an intentional ‘distraction’ from the Jeffrey Epstein files
Jamie Lee Curtis delivered a defiant message to ICE while claiming their “out of control” actions have been a purposeful “distraction” from the Jeffrey Epstein files.
On Thursday, February 5, the 67-year-old actress made her bold statement while unveiling the non-profit Project Angel Food’s new kitchen in Hollywood. As she took the podium, the Freakier Friday star condemned The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and called for stronger unity in America.
Jamie has joined her fellow celebrities in protesting ICE including Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, among many others. During the event, Jamie said, “Every day I think I’m not going to be shocked anymore and then I’m shocked. It’s just inhumane. It is inhumane the way this administration is treating its citizens and its constituents and people in need.”
The Halloween actress continued, “It’s an abhorrence what they’re doing. The ICE situation is out of control. It’s simply a distraction so that we don’t pay attention to the Epstein files. I’m angrier probably than I’ve ever been and more turned on to the need to do what we’re doing.”
Calling attention to the nation-wide anti-ICE protests, Jamie added, “We’re only going to get s–t done if we do it together and defy these motherf—ers.”
In response to Jamie’s powerful words, many took to X rallying behind the famed actress. One fan wrote, “Jamie Lee Curtis spoke fearlessly: confronting in the streets those who attack democracy is an act of courage. Her clarity and bravery in making this call are applauded.”
Another fan added, “Jamie is a boss and has been for a long time. Classic case of getting better all the time.”
While a third person posted, “Cool she’s getting out there. The more word is spread about this the harder it’ll be to hide. I still love her in True Lies. You know!”
Someone else chimed in, “Jamie Lee for president.”
And a fifth wrote, “Love it! Minnesota thanks you for your support and for paying attention to what is happening here!”
In this, Jamie was referring to the escalating violence across the U.S. at the hands of ICE agents, including the killings of two Minnesota residents this year. On January 24, Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse and US citizen, was shot and killed by federal agents (identified as Border Patrol). Prior to this, Renee Nicole Good, 37-year-old U.S. citizen, was fatally shot by an ICE agent on January 7.
Jamie was also calling attention to the Epstein files, which comes as even more documents were released putting a spotlight on the rich and famous. The latest drop came on January 30, including approximately 3 million pages, 2,000 videos, and 180,000 images, which the Department of Justice indicated would be the final release.
