Attorney General Pam Bondi hit out at Democratic Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove during a hearing on Capitol Hill – but CNN viewers were left puzzled by her comments about Culver City

CNN viewers have turned on Pam Bondi following a comment she made during testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill this week.
During the hearing, Democratic Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove noted that a Department of Justice report on domestic terrorism shows far-right extremists commit more violence than those who are left-leaning. However, the Congresswoman said the data was scrubbed by the attorney general’s office.
l
Rep. Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th District, told Bondi, “What I am asking you to do is put the report back, restore the data, stop scrubbing important data from your website, stop taking reports that you know the American people need to know about. There are violent, dangerous people out here with real threats.” She added, “Do better!”
However, Bondi insisted there are dangerous people in the Congresswoman’s district. She said, “Her district includes Culver City, and she’s not talking about any crime in her district.”
Viewers were left confused by Bondi’s comments because, even though Culver City is ranked by some safety reports as having higher-than-average crime for the state, the rate of violent crime – including robbery and aggravated assault – is 6.4 per 1,000 residents, while murder rates remain extremely low or zero. The main crime in the area is property-related.
lmao I cannot believe I missed this. Aside from Bev Hills, Bel Air and West Hollywood, Culver City is one of the most noncontroversially safe and nice places in LA. This woman is legitimately clueless. https://t.co/tVFPG4y2RG

A person said of Bondi, “lmao I cannot believe I missed this. Aside from Bev Hills, Bel Air, and West Hollywood, Culver City is one of the least controversial and nicest places in LA. This woman is legitimately clueless.”
“Culver City is quite nice, what is this crazy lady on about?” another wrote. A California resident said, “You obviously haven’t visited Culver City lately. What are you talking about?!!”
Someone else said, “Culver City literally has Erewhon, Apple offices, Amazon Studios headquarters, Warner Bros office, and Sony Studios.” One more added, “I used to work in Culver City. Nice area. Sony/Columbia Studios is in Culver. I miss Ms. Chi dumplings. Closed last year.”

“My guess? Stephen Miller gave her this note. Back when he lived in L.A., it wasn’t a great area,” one X user wrote. “You can quite literally sit outside with your MacBook for hours comfortably in Culver City and leave to go to the bathroom, and it’s gonna be fine,” someone else shared.
A critic wrote, “Almost choked when she said that. Culver City never comes up as having any problems.” In response to Bondi’s comments, Rep. Kamlager-Dove tweeted, “Culver City is known for parks, studio lots, and breakfast burritos—not crime. Pam Bondi should visit sometime.”

At some point during the hearing, Bondi accused Kentucky GOP Congressman Thomas Massie, who criticized the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, of suffering from the so-called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Rep. Massie was the first Republican to spar with Bondi after asking about redactions in the Jeffrey Epstein files. He pointed to instances where the names of victims are not shielded, but the name of businessman Les Wexner, a client of the convicted sex offender, is blacked out.
Massie asked, “Who’s responsible? Are you able to track who in the organization made this massive failure and released the victims’ names?” However, Bondi replied that Massie, who has become a vocal critic of President Trump, was a “failed politician” and a “hypocrite.”
