Fox News halted their coverage to share breaking news on missing Nancy Guthrie as police began a search of a septic tank close to her property.

Pima County Sheriff’s Department detectives have been seen via drone footage searching a septic tank behind 84-year-old Nancy’s house, with video showing them in the backyard opening a manhole over a week since the octogenarian was abducted from her home.

The search for Today Show host Savannah Guthrie‘s mom has entered its eighth day after Nancy disappeared from her house in Tucson, Arizona, in the early hours of February 1.

Nancy was last seen around 9:48 pm on Saturday, January 31, when she was dropped off at home by family after dinner at her daughter’s nearby house.

Her doorbell camera was found to have disconnected at 1:47 am on February 1, at 2:12 am the camera detected movement but the footage was not saved, and by 2:28 am Nancy’s pacemaker disconnected from her Apple watch indicating it was no longer in range.

Blood spatter found on her porch was then confirmed to be Nancy’s. Police suspect she was abducted, and ransom notes with a demand for a $6 6million payment in bitcoin have been sent.

The suspected kidnappers have demanded that the money be sent by 5 pm on Monday, February 9. In the latest video update from the family, Savannah speaks directly to the kidnappers as she promises they “will pay” for their mother to be returned to them.

Savannah sat between her brother, Camron Guthrie, and her sister, Annie Guthrie, in the 22-second clip. She said, “We received your message, and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

As of yet, law enforcement has not identified any suspects in the case, confirming only that they believe Nancy was abducted.

Earlier on Sunday, February 8, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department shared an update on X. They wrote, “The Nancy Guthrie investigation is ongoing. Follow-up continues at multiple locations. No suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified. No scheduled press briefings. If any significant developments occur in the case, a press conference will be called.”

Late on Saturday, February 7, law enforcement were seen searching Annie’s home, the last place Nancy was seen before she went missing. NewsNation’s Brian Entin shared footage from the scene, where he claimed officers were “starting to leave Annie Guthrie’s house after three hours” at around 10:30 pm local time.

Officers were reportedly seen taking photos inside the property, with a silver briefcase also carried inside by an agent. Annie’s home was also searched earlier in the week after she and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, were confirmed by police as the last people to see Nancy.
