Anchor David Muir shared a warning about the Nancy Guthrie case after the FBI received a surge in tips.

The search for the 84-year-old mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, who was reported missing on February 1, has now reached Day 25. Authorities have suggested that Savannah’s mother was most likely abducted from her Arizona home, where evidence of blood was found on her front porch.

On February 23, the host released an Instagram video, offering a $1 million reward for finding her mother. This comes after an ex-FBI agent revealed the hidden codeword that Savannah used in her message to the kidnappers.

During ABC’s broadcast of World News Tonight on February 25, footage showed the FBI walking the property of Nancy’s home, putting up “No Trespassing” signs.

Muir said, “In the meantime, new development in the Nancy Guthrie case, the mother of Today Show host, Savannah Guthrie.

“The FBI was back at Nancy Guthrie’s home today, 24 hours after Savannah and her siblings offered their one million dollar reward.”

“The FBI is reducing its number of personnel in Tucson,” Muir warned in his segment. “Many agents are now heading back to Phoenix to work on the case from there.”

“Investigators are going through a surge in tips after the Guthrie family offered a million dollars in information in leading to their mother,” the anchor closed. “The number of calls ramped up in the hours after” the NBC star took to social media.”

The FBI stressed that “just because some agents are leaving Tucson, that does not mean the case is over.” Agents are “not giving up” and are still “hoping someone will come forward with a tip that could unmask the suspect.

Also in the online video, Savannah acknowledged in her closing remarks that her mother may no longer be alive.

The host implored, “So please, if you hear this message, if you’ve been waiting and you haven’t been sure, let this be your sign to please come forward, tell what you know, and help us bring our beloved mom home.

“So that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming, or celebrate the beautiful, brave, and courageous and noble life that she has lived.

“Please be the light in the dark,” she concluded. The TV star also announced a personal donation of approximately $500,000 to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

She mentioned that her mother’s case had received mass attention; there are also other families who need help to recover their missing loved ones.

The FBI continues to look for the masked suspect – seen carrying a gun and holster — who appeared in the security footage and images approaching Nancy’s front door in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 1.
