Tiger Woods is once again at the center of controversy following his latest DUI arrest — and this time, the reaction on television and online has been anything but sympathetic.

During a segment on Fox News, host Greg Gutfeld did not hold back when discussing Woods’ arrest.

Referencing the public concern that followed Woods’ serious 2021 crash, Gutfeld said, “I’m having flashbacks of 2021 when we sat here for an hour talking about ‘I hope he’s alright.’ Screw him, what about people he could have hurt.”

The sharp remark immediately set the tone, shifting the focus from concern for Woods to the potential danger posed to others.

Tiger Woods’ Mugshot/ Martin County Sheriff’s Department

Woods had been released Saturday morning after spending approximately eight hours in custody. Authorities say his Range Rover struck a truck and flipped onto its side.

Details From the Arrest

According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, Woods showed clear signs of impairment at the scene.

A breathalyzer test returned a 0.00 reading, but Woods refused to provide a urine sample. He was subsequently charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

Budensiek described Woods as “cooperative, but not trying to incriminate himself,” noting that the golfer appeared lethargic and attempted to connect his condition to past injuries and surgeries.

The sheriff emphasized how serious the situation could have been, stating that if there had been oncoming traffic, “this could have been a lot worse.”

Social Media Reaction Divided

The reaction online was immediate, with viewers weighing in on Gutfeld’s comments and Woods’ situation.

Some supported the criticism. One viewer wrote that there was “no reason Tiger can’t get himself a chauffeur,” while another said they “could not agree more” and suggested stricter consequences.

Others turned their attention back to Gutfeld, accusing him of bias and referencing his own past. One commenter claimed he was deflecting from a 2017 DUI, adding that people injured in that incident are still recovering.

The divide in reactions highlights how polarizing both Woods’ actions and Gutfeld’s response have become.

A Troubling Pattern

This marks Woods’ second DUI arrest. In 2017, he was found asleep at the wheel in Jupiter, later attributing the incident to prescription medication rather than alcohol.

He also survived a near-fatal single-car crash in California in 2021, which led to multiple leg surgeries and a lengthy recovery.

At the time of this latest incident, Woods was alone. According to Page Six, his girlfriend Vanessa Trump and her daughter Kai were not with him.

With a history of serious incidents behind him, the latest arrest has reignited scrutiny over Woods’ decisions — and raised fresh concerns about what could have happened if circumstances had been different.
