Pam Bondi faced criticism for announcing that she had dismissed six federal prosecutors for their refusal to defend ICE agents.
The U.S. Attorney General appeared on Fox News’ Hannity on January 14 to provide an update on the Minnesota federal prosecutor who recently resigned. She started by expressing her support for ICE and U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, following the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good. Bondi then shared with Sean Hannity her breaking news: she had terminated them.
“We had six prosecutors who suddenly decided they didn’t want to support the men and women in ICE. One of them was busy doing a photoshoot with the New York Times while ICE was out there risking their lives. So they came and said we want to resign, but we want to use our annual leave up until April, meaning they want the taxpayers to pay for them to go on vacation,” Bondi stated during the broadcast.
“Because they decided they didn’t want to support law enforcement, so the breaking news tonight [is] I fired them,” she continued, reports the Irish Star.

The 60-year-old went on to discuss the “great” U.S. Attorney of Minnesota, Daniel Rosen, and how he has his hands full. She suggested that on a “personal level,” the former federal prosecutors “would be an HR nightmare” and urged people to “look into them.”
“One of them actually, in 2022, defended BLM [Black Lives Matter] when they burned down a pawn shop, and someone was murdered. They want to be part of the resistance. Bring it on. They’re not going to be working for Donald Trump and the Department of Justice any longer,” Bondi continued, referencing an incident where a Rochester man set fire to a Minneapolis pawn shop during protests following George Floyd’s murder, resulting in a man’s death. It was not reported that he was affiliated with BLM or that the movement was involved in the arson.
She wrapped up her conversation with Hannity by saying, “Good riddance” to the six federal prosecutors and expressed confidence that prosecutors from other states would step in and do their job.
The video of her speaking on Hannity was posted on X (formerly Twitter), where many blasted Bondi and her response, particularly her claim that she had dismissed the prosecutors who had already resigned.

One individual commented, “She can’t fire them if they literally resigned first. This administration is so childish.”
Another chimed in, “Bulls–t. They resigned. They showed integrity. Look up the word. It’s a hard one. It has four syllables.”
Another added, “I’m sorry, they wanted to use MONTHS of accrued leave (which means it has been quite a while since they used any) in a perfectly legal and normal way, and you fired them for it? That is not going to end the way you think it is. But good luck!”
A fourth individual sarcastically remarked, “Since when do they ‘work for Trump?’ I could have sworn they worked for ‘all of us.’ Bad on me!”
On Tuesday, January 13, six federal prosecutors in Minnesota stepped down due to the DOJ’s insistence on investigating Renee’s widow, Becca Good, and their refusal to probe into the ICE agent who took her life, as reported by the New York Times.
The 37-year-old poet and mother of three tragically lost her life after being shot in the head by ICE agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis on January 7.
