White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt attacked Democratic lawmakers whom she accused of inciting violence at anti-ICE protests during a press conference Thursday.

Leavitt, 28, ranted again to press about the Trump administration’s frustrations with how the ongoing nationwide anti-ICE protests following the fatal shooting by ICE officer Jonathan Ross of 37-year-old mother Renee Good in Minneapolis last Wednesday are being covered in the media. At one point, she pulled out printed images of vandalism to a federal agent’s vehicles at demonstrations in Minneapolis.

“If you look at some of the images out of Minneapolis, look at this vehicle. It says ‘F— ICE,'” she noted. “You have individuals putting their middle finger, proudly so, at the camera.

“Another vehicle that was vandalized last night by these left-wing agitators,” she continued, going on to slam Democratic leaders. “People don’t do this without encouragement from people in power who make them feel like it’s ok.”

Trump officials have repeatedly characterized anti-ICE protestors and Good, herself, as paid left-wing agitators without evidence.

She pulled out another image from underneath the other, which showed more evidence of vandalism to ICE vehicles at protests, including a vehicle illegally spray-painted with the message, “Only good agent is a dead one,” in Minneapolis, Fox News confirmed.

“This is despicable rhetoric that we’re seeing, and the media is absolutely complicit in this violence,” Leavitt said.

She went on to disparage CNN’s headline choice—”Protests erupt after federal agent shoots man in Minneapolis”—and subsequent coverage of an incident that unfolded Wednesday evening after an undocumented Venezuelan immigrant was shot.

“That is not the story,” Leavitt said about CNN’s story. “That is not the truth.”

CNN has not directly addressed the incident at press time.

Leavitt encouraged people to read the Department of Homeland Security’s statement about the incident, which was posted on X Thursday morning.

DHS said federal law enforcement officers conducted a “targeted traffic stop” at 6:50 p.m. CST in Minneapolis to apprehend “an illegal alien from Venezuela who was released into the country by Joe Biden in 2022.”

“In an attempt to evade arrest, the subject fled the scene in his vehicle and crashed into a parked car,” DHS claims. “The subject then fled on foot. The law enforcement officer caught up to the subject on foot and attempted to apprehend him when the subject began to resist and violently assault the officer.

“While the subject and law enforcement were in a struggle on the ground, two subjects came out of a nearby apartment and also attacked the law enforcement officer with a snow shovel and broom handle,” DHS said. “As the officer was being ambushed and attacked by the two individuals, the original subject got loose and began striking the officer with a shovel or broom stick.

“Fearing for his life and safety as he was being ambushed by three individuals, the officer fired a defensive shot to defend his life. The initial subject was hit in the leg. All three subjects ran back into the apartment and barricaded themselves inside.”

Both the officer and the undocumented immigrant were taken to the hospital, and both of the attackers are in custody, DHS said, similarly going on to accuse Democratic leadership of inciting violence against ICE agents trying to carry out their duties, claiming there has been a 1,300% spike in violence against them.

“This attack on another brave member of law enforcement took place while Minnesota’s top leaders, Governor Walz and Mayor Frey, are actively encouraging an organized resistance to ICE and federal law enforcement officers,” DHS said. “Their hateful rhetoric and resistance against men and women who are simply trying to do their jobs must end.
