Hoda will be filling in for Craig Melvin beginning on April 13 while he goes on vacation.

Savannah announced Craig’s departure on Thursday’s show.

“Speaking of tomorrow, Craig you are heading off on a very well-deserved vacation, you’ve been holding it down here for a long time,” she said.

“And Monday, we’re going to try a new host here. Her name is Hoda.”

“Oh, I’ve heard of her,” Craig joked.

Savannah and Hoda will reunite as anchors for the first time since Hoda stepped down from the Today show on January 10, 2025.

The pair became the first female co-anchors in 2018 when Hoda joined the anchor desk.

Despite stepping back from the Today show, Hoda has been filling in for Savannah since her mother was abducted on February 1.

Savannah returned to the show on April 6 and said, “it’s good to be home.”

Even during her extended leave, the anchor kept close to her Today family.

Savannah returned to 30 Rock for the first time in March for an emotional, private reunion with her co-workers.

She later sat down for an emotional interview with Hoda to plead for information on her missing mom, Nancy.
