Co-stars of Today Show star Savannah Guthrie have spoken out in support of her as the hunt for her mother Nancy continues.

Nancy, 84, was kidnapped during the night of January 31 after she’d been dropped home by her son-in-law following a family dinner. Searches have been ongoing alongside two video appeals from Nancy’s daughter, Today Show star Savannah Guthrie, and her siblings, who are begging for her safe return.

Described by those who know her as the ‘rock’ of the Today show, Savannah has been in constant contact with her co-stars whilst the search continues as one revealed. Her relationship with her co-stars and studio family is so close that co-star and good friend Hoda Kotb is skipping her stint presenting at the Winter Olympics in Milan to be there for her friend.

Concerns were raised on February 1 when Nancy didn’t show up to her usual 11 am church service in Tucson, Arizona. A congregant then alerted Nancy’s family, who contacted the authorities. The octogenarian has not been seen since.

Savannah and her siblings have pleaded for her safe return, with Savannah stepping away from work, including hosting at the Olympics, to focus on her family.

Kotb, 61, was lined up to host the NBC coverage but instead is staying in the US. She’s already joined Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, and Carson Daly to present a segment on the Today Show on the outpouring of support for the Guthrie family.

Speaking on the show on Friday, 6 February, Hoda said, “This whole thing is breaking my heart, and I’m happy to be sitting here with you.” She continued, “I’ve been wandering around, going, ‘Where do we go?’ And I picture Savannah sitting there.”

She then added that she felt “helpless” as she added, “I mean, we’re all so close with her and we all want to help her. I’m looking at us and thinking like, who was first in the hospital room when [my daughter] Hope was sick? Savannah. Who hopped on a plane when [Daly’s] parents [died]? Savannah. Who was sitting by [Jones’ late husband] Uche? How about when [Melvin’s] brother passed? They say love is patient, love is kind. Like, we’ll be patient and put prayers up. And that’s all we can do.”

The words from Hoda come as the search for Nancy continues with her daughter, Savannah, making another video plea alongside her siblings, Annie and Cameron.

In the clip, Savannah addressed the camera as she and her family confirmed they would meet the ransom demands for their mother’s return. She said, “We received your message, and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

The video comes after alleged ransom notes were sent to several media outlets – including TMZ and CNN affiliate KOLD-TV – asking for millions of dollars in bitcoin for Nancy’s return. The video also follows local police acquiring surveillance footage from a neighborhood store, potentially showing a vehicle linked to the case.
