Brian Kilmeade, one of Fox News’s hosts, has been called out online after he made a “shocking” remark about Americans being trapped in the Middle East.

Speaking during his March 6 Fox & Friends morning show, the 61-year-old appeared to blame American citizens for getting trapped in the Middle East amid the recent strikes by the United States and Israel in Iran.

Many Americans, along with citizens from other countries, are trapped in places such as the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain, after the US’s Operation Epic Fury led to the closure of air spaces above numerous Middle Eastern nations.

On Friday, Brian Kilmeade appeared to be confused as to why Americans are trapped abroad right now, as he said, “Where were you? Did you notice this unparalleled buildup of an armada at sea? The news everywhere, in every language, so you do have to take some responsibility.”

Continuing, the host added, “And for Democrats who are outraged that the State Department hasn’t done more, are you the same Democrats that watched the fall of Kabul and didn’t care? We left thousands behind, our citizens, and our allies, and they were only left there to die.

“And it took Green Berets and Special Forces to combine on their money, cashing in their 401Ks to get them out. And you’re critical of Marco Rubio for not getting all of these people out of the Middle East.”

This is when the 61-year-old anchor decided to blame American citizens who have found themselve trapped abroad due to the ongoing attacks in Iran by the United States.

“You do have a personal responsbility to a degree,” Brian said.

However, his co-star Ainsley Earhardt was having none of it, as she shot back, “Some people had to travel for work reasons or they’re contract employees in other countries, and they’re stuck, and they just want to get home, and get to safety.”

Ainsley then continued to push her point, as Brian looked aghast at his colleague, with the 49-year-old adding, “They’re still Americans, and we’ll do whatever it takes to get them home. And yes, it might take some time, and Marco Rubio, to his credit — you normally would have to pay for you way home, but he said we’ll pay to get you home.”

Fox News viewers responded with disdain to Brian’s comments as many shared their own experiences with loved ones being trapped abroad on social media.

“My son was literally in Dubai to change planes. Still stranded,” one concerned mother wrote on X, as another person added, “Fox blaming american citizens for being in the Middle East during a war that they didn’t know was gonna happen. Fox continues to try and convince americans to accept the failures of this administration.”

“Does Fox News/Murdoch have any journalists/reporters stationed in the Middle East? Are they to blame for their predicament? DXB is 3rd busiest airport in the world due to connecting flights. People often have no choice but to stop there,” a third person chimed in to say.

“Fox News is targeting DUMB PEOPLE! They must be b/c their segments are so shallow and lame,” fumed a fourth person, with a fifth concluding, “Brian Kilmeade… the same one who said the homeless should be killed? Shocking.”
