Big Changes Are Coming To Good Morning America
There are big changes coming to GMA and ABC. Following the scandalous affair between Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, the reputation of the network has suffered.
Robin and George have a new boss. Debra O’Connell was brought in as the new head honcho at ABC. She is known for her no-nonsense approach to management. Previously, she was at the helm of Disney Entertainment Television. Now, Debra O’Connell has been tasked with improving ABC News’ ratings and reputation following the scandal.

Good Morning America still holds the number one spot for total viewers for morning shows of its type. However, it is continuing to lose people ages 25-54 to its rival, CBS Mornings.
“Network execs are determined GMA maintain its lead,” an insider shared. Debra O’Connell has promised to be more hands-on than Kim Godwin. According to the insider, Kim was fairly hands-off and allowed Robin Roberts and George to run GMA.
Debra O’Connell is being brought in after Good Morning America‘s reputation was tarnished by the scandal of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ affair. Although Robin and George have been openly critical of the affair, many people believe that the network’s executives should have done more to stop it from happening. It seems the former news division president Kim Godwin’s hands-off approach blew up in their faces.
Robin Roberts & George Stephanopoulos Worry About Their Jobs
A source close to the TV hosts revealed that Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos are concerned about their futures on GMA. “Both Robin and George are concerned,” the insider told In Touch Weekly. “Network honchos wouldn’t have brought in Debra unless they wanted to see big changes.”
Another inside source says that Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos have a great relationship with Debra. That being said, both Good Morning America stars are worried about what kind of control the new exec will exert on them. They also are both questioning if they will survive the changes.

“Both of them were comfortable with the way things were,” the person said. “Now they have someone watching, and judging, their every move.”
Viewers have seen a lot of shakeups with the hosts recently due to Michael Strahan taking time off to be with his family and other hosts working on separate projects. It is unclear as to what other changes will happen on GMA.
