The View ladies weighed in on the United States and Israel’s joint military operation to kill Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on February 28.
Whoopi Goldberg had to step in to restore order after a passionate exchange erupted between Ana Navarro and guest panelist Elisabeth Hasselbeck during the latest episode of The View.
During the Monday, March 2 broadcast of the ABC daytime program, the panel addressed the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a targeted military strike on February 28 by the United States and Israel, referred to as “Operation Epic Fury.”
As the co-hosts gathered to weigh in on the topic, opinions were sharply divided. Navarro, 54, kicked off the discussion by expressing “mixed feelings” about the operation.
Whilst she acknowledged that she did “share in the celebration of so many Iranians around the world,” the host voiced frustration that “the American people have not been brought into this.
“I am furious that we are going into war yet again without congressional approval,” she stated, adding her concerns about the motivations behind the operation. “I look at Donald Trump and [Benjamin] Netanyahu and I see two leaders who I think think politically they benefit from war.”

Navarro went further, suggesting Trump is “in love with the idea of being the conqueror and the emperor after Venezuela.”
“He’s got this Napoleonic complex. He thinks he’s Alexander the Great,” she concluded.
Following her criticism of the U.S. president, Hasselbeck, who is substituting for Alyssa Farah Griffin this week, offered a contrasting perspective, beginning with, “I so respect where you come from on this, Anna. I also think it’s very easy to have a political concussion at this point.”
Whilst acknowledging Americans’ weariness regarding military conflict, the Hasselbeck, 48, maintained that she does “trust that this is best for our nation and we should be America first.”

Hasselbeck highlighted several positive outcomes of the operation, notably its impact on 47 million Iranian women, who now possess the “hope of freedom.”
She continued, “We have a disgusting, disgusting terrorist regime ended and the people finally have hope to create their own nation again.”
Navarro quickly interrupted, “What makes you think that the regime has ended?”.
Sunny Hostin tried to contribute, “Well, that’s what I was going to…” before Hasselbeck countered, “The absolute Ayatollah is dead.”
Navarro responded sharply, “But I’m old enough to remember 1989..”

As Hasselbeck prepared to reply, Goldberg intervened to say, “Let’s not do this cross talk thing. Finish your sentence,” redirecting the focus to Hostin.
“The bottom line is that this is an illegal war. This is an unconstitutional war. Only Congress can wage war,” Hostin ultimately clarified.
Over the weekend, Trump announced the death of the Iranian leader on his Truth Social platform.
He lauded the demise of “one of the most evil people in history,” presenting it as retribution for the damage inflicted on Americans and others by Iran’s leadership.
“This is not only Justice for the people of Iran,” Trump penned, “but for all Great Americans, and those people from many Countries throughout the World, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty THUGS.”
The president further stated that the Iranian populace now has “the single greatest chance… to take back their country.”
He also made sure to note the U.S. strikes on Iran will persist.
Trump concluded, “The heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue, uninterrupted throughout the week or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!”
