A 2013 Today show clip featuring Nancy Guthrie has resurfaced, showing the missing 84-year-old inside her Tucson, Arizona home

A ten-year-old clip from the Today show has reemerged, featuring Nancy Guthrie in her bedroom at her Tucson, Arizona, residence.

The 2013 footage is part of a segment where the mother of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie, aged 54, demonstrated her bed-making prowess from her $1 million home. Meanwhile, Savannah and her co-hosts tried to mimic the process from their New York City studio.

The 84-year-old has been missing since February 1, suspected to have been kidnapped from her desert home, where she’s resided for five decades. It comes after a mystery man who claimed he “saw Nancy 5 days ago” offered chilling new proof.

This rare footage of the missing mother of three resurfaced after a criminal lawyer pointed out six major inconsistencies in Nancy’s abduction that “don’t add up.”

During the light-hearted segment, filmed at 3 AM MST due to the time difference, Savannah can be heard conveying an emotional message to her mother, 13 years before her disappearance, simply ending the clip with: “Love you, Mom!” reports the Irish Star.

Following her disappearance, the FBI released images and video footage from the home’s doorbell camera. It showed a masked individual wearing gloves and carrying a firearm in the same area where investigators found Nancy’s blood, suggesting a violent altercation.

In the segment, Nancy, then 71, stated, “Well, I think everybody needs to know how to make a bed. So, when the time came to teach [Savannah and her siblings] how to make a bed, this is what I tried to teach you,” before launching into her demonstration.

Savannah confessed her preference to “just leave” her bed unmade upon rising each morning. Her mother quipped, “All three of the kids thought [bed-making] was a really worthless skill.”

Ex-Today co-anchor Natalie Morales remarked that Nancy’s sheets were tucked so firmly she “could bounce a quarter off of it,” prompting Nancy to respond, “Natalie, don’t put me to the test. It’s way too early,” highlighting that it was still nighttime in Arizona.

At the show’s Rockefeller Center headquarters, the Today team tried replicating Nancy’s technique themselves, with Al Roker and Natalie executing the matriarch’s instructions precisely whilst Savannah added final touches to the carefully prepared bed.

As Nancy concluded the call, Savannah urged her mother to rest, joking, “I’ll teach you a skill! It’s called ‘napping,’ when you’re up at these hours,” before delivering a now-heartbreaking three-word farewell: “Love you, Mom.”

The octogenarian has resided in the same single-story red brick residence in the Catalina Foothills since the 1970s, where she brought up Savannah and her siblings.
