A second ransom note in the Nancy Guthrie case contains no demands but includes sensitive details appearing to respond to the family’s social media pleas

A second note connected to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has revealed four key details that distinguish it from an earlier ransom letter.
KOLD anchor Mary Coleman, who received the latest message on Friday, outlined the bombshell revelations contained in the correspondence tied to the 84-year-old mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie. The octogenarian has been missing for a week, with police concluding she was kidnapped from her Tucson, Arizona, home based on evidence found at the scene.
Unlike the first letter, which demanded millions of dollars in Bitcoin and included two deadlines, the second note contains neither a deadline nor any monetary demands.
“I don’t think law enforcement would classify this second one as a ransom note. That’s the best way I can characterize that,” Coleman said.
She said she believes the sender made an effort to include details meant to prove to investigators they are the same person or people who sent the first letter.

The anchor said the recent letter appears to be in response to videos the Guthrie family posted on social media asking for proof that their mother was alive.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department told KOLD the new note did not share the same IP address as the earlier letter, but “it appears the sender used the same type of secure server” to conceal that information, Coleman said.
Coleman described the message as “just as coherent as the first,” though slightly shorter. “I would say that this second one… the way that it was put together was very similar,” she said.
The second note arrived hours before law enforcement conducted a third search of Guthrie’s $1 million Tucson residence on February 6.

During the search, forensic FBI teams discovered a rooftop camera that had been missed in previous examinations. Authorities also seized a dark SUV from the property.
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1 after failing to attend her usual Sunday morning church service. Police found blood on her front door and signs of forced entry, leading officers to believe she was abducted.
She was last seen the previous evening after dinner with her daughter, Annie Guthrie, and son-in-law, Tommasco Cioni.
The earlier ransom letter included two deadlines, one at 5 p.m. Thursday, which has passed, and another set for Monday.
Law enforcement has not publicly confirmed the authenticity of either note, though authorities have said they are treating the correspondence as “a serious lead.”
