The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward in the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie.

Nancy, 84, has been unaccounted for since February 1. Her relatives contacted 911 after discovering she had not attended church that Sunday.

Savannah Guthrie’s mom was last observed the previous evening after being dropped at her residence at 9:48 pm, and authorities have now verified that her doorbell camera went offline at 1:47 am on Sunday. This comes after an expert revealed a chilling truth that the kidnapper is “known to the family.”

 

On February 4, Today Show anchor Savannah and her relatives posted an emotional video on Instagram, telling whoever has their mother that they are “ready to talk” and acknowledging they are aware of potential ransom communications.

At a press briefing in Pima County, Arizona, on February 5, FBI Special Agent Heith Janke announced the six-figure reward for information leading to “the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”,

He verified that the FBI is now handling the case in partnership with the Pima County sheriff’s department.

Addressing the media, the special agent stated, “We are actively reviewing and analyzing information from all digital sources, which includes banks, social media companies and phone companies.”

When questioned by a journalist about any videos or photographs that came with a ransom note, Special Agent Janke responded, “We’re not going to go into facts regarding this part of the investigation.

“With AI these days, you can make videos that appear to be very real, so we can’t just take a video and trust that it’s proof of life these days because of the advancements of AI. But we’re not gonna go into anything the family may or may not have received,” he added.

Speaking directly to those responsible, he stated, “You still have the time to do the right thing before this becomes a much worse scenario for you.”

During the press conference, Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed authorities “have not identified a suspect or a person of interest” at this time.

“We have been working around the clock, and we just want her home and to get to the bottom of all of this,” he said. “We’re at that phase now where sometimes we’re waiting, we’re waiting for analysis, we’re waiting for lab reports.”

He verified that the blood discovered outside the residence belongs to Nancy, and provided a comprehensive timeline revealing that Nancy’s doorbell camera disconnected at 1:47 am on February 1, while at 2:12 am something was captured on a property camera – potentially a human figure.
