Fox viewers were left floored as influencer and pro wrestler Logan Paul revealed his risky habit of dropping millions on expensive collectibles and betting on a massive return on his investment.

On Tuesday, December 23, the 30-year-old made a guest appearance on Fox Business’s The Big Money Show, where he dished on his habit of investing in high-value collectibles. During the interview, many viewers at home were left stunned as he revealed that he spent a jaw-dropping $5.3 million on the rarest and most valuable Pokémon card, The Pikachu Illustrator.

Logan, who is also currently preoccupied with tending to his brother Jake Paul’s serious injuries following his boxing match with Anthony Joshua, explained this high-risk financial strategy.

During the conversation, Logan urged that Pokémon as an asset class is a worthwhile investment, claiming that it has outperformed the stock market by upwards of 3,000% in the last 20 years. He added that it is the highest-grossing and the most popular franchise in the world and that he now has his hands on “the best” Pokémon card that exists.

In addition to purchasing the expensive card, Logan also bought a lavish lanyard to transport it, which was adorned with real diamonds and cost $75,000.

When asked how he got into investing in cards, Logan jokingly explained, “Someone gave me way too much money as an adult and as a kid who grew up playing the game, I was like ‘Oh wow, there is this trading card game here and I can spend my entire net worth on it — and I did that with this card.”

Another Fox host followed up by asking Logan where someone who might be interested in the same kind of asset class would start, as many naturally cannot afford to spend millions on a collectible card.

To this, Logan replied, “I mean, go to your local card shop. Go on EBay. Buy a card that you think looks cool or that you have a connection with. That’s what I did. I love Pokémon more than anything. I have one tattoo on my body. It’s a Squirtle. I got it even before I started.”

Under the clip shared on the official Fox News X (formerly Twitter) account, Logan was hit with a whirlwind of hate. One user wrote, “If you get financial advice from logan paul you’re the dumb money.”

Another person added, “My man literally out here on national television telling investors to ‘buy one that looks cool’ with a straight face. F—— internet.”

Someone else chimed in, “Lmao, if you look at history, collectibles like crystalware, China dishes, figurines, dolls, are all essentially worthless now after years and years of being a ‘lifelong investment.’ Now that being said, collectibles are a real thing, but to have faith in something like this for decades and decades is completely idiotic.”

While a fellow card collector posted, “Kindly please Get out of my f—— hobby you have ruined it for millions of people by making it all about the money not the artists.”
