Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes might just be sticking to their promise of keeping updates on their relationship under wraps, if fans of the former’s latest social media post are to be believed.

Amy, 53, and T.J., 48, began quietly dating in mid-2022, amid their separations from their respective spouses Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig (who are now a couple as well).

After their relationship was made public, the resulting controversial reception led to them both being terminated by their home network ABC. Since then, they’ve returned to the spotlight and then some, now hosting the podcast Amy & T.J. together.

And their relationship is going strong too, with the pair revealing in October 2025 that they had quietly gotten engaged after three years of dating. And Amy’s latest social media post actually has some fans believing they’ve already quietly tied the knot.

T.J.’s “Trophy Husband” shirt left some fans wondering whether they’d quietly tied the knot

“A little late posting this February dump! What a wild month… she started out warm in a then calm and peaceful Mexico and ended in a historic blizzard,” she captioned a set of photos shared on Instagram on March 3.

Several of the photos featured the couple in Mexico, enjoying icy cocktails and warm climes, before returning to New York City to experience its historic blizzard. One detail in the post caught the eye of some eagle-eyed fans though.

In some of the snaps from Mexico, T.J. posed in a shirt that read “Trophy Husband,” prompting speculation from fans whether they’d already secretly gotten married. “Trophy husband? Are you two married now?” one asked, with another also saying: “I spy a t-shirt that says ‘husband’, did I miss something?” A third also wrote: “Did you get married??”

Keeping it quiet

The couple did not comment on the speculation from fans, although many others simply reasoned that the shirt was just a joke, pointing to Amy’s present engagement ring in one of the photos.

And besides, as T.J. previously exclusively told us back in December, it’s likely that we won’t find out about nuptials until much later, if at all. “We are not trying to make announcements,” he told HELLO!, adding that they are “quite frankly, trying to be quiet and live our lives and be happy.”

He noted that it was the increased public scrutiny and backlash that came from their romance going public in the midst of their divorces from their spouses at the time that influenced a greater desire for privacy. “The only reason people know we’re engaged now is that we felt we had to run out and tell people before somebody else did, and that was it.”

“We are not trying to let everybody in. We’re just trying to go about our lives,” the journalist continued. “We don’t have plans. We literally are living our lives and happy and quiet and private, and it’s been wonderful. So as far as the wedding plans go, you will hear about the wedding plans probably two years after the wedding took place!”
