Fox and Friends host Lawrence B. Jones questioned whether European NATO allies’ reluctance to support Trump’s Iran war stems from demographic changes.

As Donald Trump and his allies continue urging European NATO members to join the conflict he initiated in Iran, one Fox News host has offered their perspective on why those nations are reluctant to get involved.

Fox News, widely recognized for its conservative stance that frequently backs the president, has had several hosts defending the Iran conflict on air, while also taking aim at European nations for their lack of involvement as the Strait of Hormuz remains closed to countries Iran has designated as enemies.

Now, as Fox News viewers have surprisingly turned on Trump, labeling him “incompetent,” some hosts are attempting to shift the narrative.

This includes directing attention toward the ongoing conflict and criticizing the limited support European nations have provided, even as Iran continues to restrict passage through the Strait of Hormuz and implements a lucrative tolling system to guarantee safe passage for vessels.

With oil prices continuing to climb, the president has called on European and Chinese allies to help reopen the Strait — a demand that has so far gone unanswered, reports the Irish Star.

Speaking on Wednesday, April 1, Fox and Friends host Lawrence B. Jones raised the question of whether this reluctance could spell the end of NATO, with Jim Hanson of the right-wing think tank Middle East Forum suggesting that Europe had undergone significant changes.

“You know, they don’t share many of our values. They censor free speech. They’re allowing migrants to take over their countries. They’re not really the best allies and the people we stood side by side with to stop the Soviet Union,” he said.

Jones went on to make additional claims, suggesting Muslim immigration to Europe was behind the reluctance.

“Part of the reason why the Europeans are so resistant to joining in is that their population has changed,” he said.

“They invited a reorganization of their country, and they’re afraid of upsetting a certain population within their country,” he continued. “America should take warning, because the same thing could happen to us as well.”

Texas Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson echoed the sentiment, arguing that demographic shifts in Europe also raised concerns about their reliability as allies.

“We’ve got to be careful, because we share our intelligence with them and we arm them and share our weapon systems with them,” he said.

“And at some point, we have to rethink that because you’re right. Things are rapidly changing in Europe and not for the best.

“Hopefully it changes soon,” Jones added.

Jones appears on Fox and Friends during weekday mornings on Fox News.
