On Thursday, February 26, The View welcomed Sara Eisen, a financial news anchor for CNBC, to the panel, where they discussed Hot Topics.
The View’s latest guest co-host gave a three-word clap back after she was grilled about the U.S. economy minutes into the episode.
On Thursday, February 26, the hit ABC talk show welcomed Sara Eisen, a financial news anchor for CNBC, to the panel to fill in for Alyssa Farah Griffin, who recently welcomed her first child. The co-hosts discussed some hefty Hot Topics, including the missing pages of the Epstein files and President Donald Trump‘s controversial statements about the U.S. Women’s hockey team.
However, before they began, Whoopi Goldberg asked Eisen about the stock market. After a passionate back-and-forth between the financial expert and the co-hosts, Goldberg apologized for bringing up the topic. Eisen held her ground as she noted about the grilling, “Keep it coming.” This came after The View co-hosts battled another guest panelist, Savannah Chrisley, for insisting Trump isn’t racist.
The moment began when Goldberg told Eisen, “So later, after we do what we’re supposed to do, I do want to ask you about the market because it seems that the market doesn’t really pay attention to who its president is – the market does what it does.”
Eisen replied, “Actually, the market likes who’s president, I think.” Goldberg asked, “Really?”

The anchor added, “There’s a lot of upbeat sentiment from companies and from investors about policies that are helpful for growth – you know, deregulation.”
Sunny Hostin interupted to ask, “Tariffs are helpful for growth?” Eisen replied, “The tariffs usually wouldn’t be helpful for growth, but they haven’t been as bad as everybody expected.”
Hostin added, “But they’re not good,” as Joy Behar interjected that the tariffs help “rich people, it doesn’t help poor people or middle-income people.”
Eisen responded, “Fair, but, you know, when the tariffs were announced, everyone thought it would be like massive inflation and the market would fall apart, and the economy would fall apart, and it hasn’t.
“Companies have absorbed it, and you know what? They’ve never been more profitable right now, but they also like the tax bill.”
Hostin again interupted, “So, like a K curve, right?” Eisen replied, “For sure.”

The co-host added, “So, if you’re an investor, if you’re wealthy, then it’s great. If you’re middle class or under the middle class then it’s not good at all.”
Eisen replied, “100 percent, but what I would say to that is that, you know, it helps to have exposure to stocks. Like more people should have exposure to stocks, and that is something President Trump has been pushing.”
Hostin argued, “If you’re getting paid minimum wage, you don’t have exposure to stocks,” before Eisen responded, “That’s why Trump wants to get more 401 (k) programs.”
That’s when Goldberg interupted the heated discussion, telling the panel, “So here’s what we’re doing,” before turning to Eisen and saying, “Sorry about that… It’s very rare that we get to sit with a financial person.”
Hostin added jokingly, “You just got peppered with so many questions.” However, Eisen seemed undeterred by the grilling, responding, “Keep it coming. I love it.”
The panel then began discussing the 50 missing pages in the Epstein files. After Sara Haines mentioned several high-profile people, including Bill Gates, apologizing for being featured in the files, she bashed their “empty apologies.”

When it came time for Eisen to weigh in on allegations against Trump regarding a purported mention of him in the files, she pointed out that no one should be “jumping to conclusions.”
She added that much of the information in the files has already been released and that the DOJ will do its job.
The anchor added, “We know Democrats like to bash President Trump,” but Goldberg shot her down by passionately stating, “No, it’s not about bashing Trump.”
Eisen is one of many guest co-hosts who have filled in for Farah Griffin, who recently welcomed her first child with her husband, Justin Griffin
Reality TV star and Trump supporter Savannah Chrisley has also filled in, but she often faced backlash for her comments.
