On Instagram and Facebook this week, Sam Champion revealed to fans how he was ambushed. The GMA weatherman explained, “Rubem gave me Birthday Ambush Wake Up Cake and surprised me with this video the algorithm composed.”
In his post, Sam included a video of the special birthday cake he got to enjoy as he woke up in bed. It totally caught him off-guard in the best possible way. Then, he shared a slideshow of photos of himself, his husband Rubem Robierb, and some of the wonderful memories they’ve made over the past year. It sounds like Rubem’s photo app on his phone might have created the video for him.
So, fortunately, Rubem was the one to ambush Sam. It was nothing serious or harmful. It was simply a surprise celebration in honor of Sam’s special day!
Sam explained that Rubem talked about life moving fast and not having enough time to fully celebrate. So, the GMA weatherman felt that his birthday was the perfect opportunity to soak it all in.

As fans know, Sam previously appeared on Dancing With the Stars. Several of his fellow competitors, including Teresa Giudice and Wayne Brady, also took the time to wish him a happy birthday.
