Amy Robach & TJ Holmes’ uncertain future
Back in January 2023, ABC fired Amy Robach and TJ Holmes after their six-month-long affair leaked to the press. The network pulled them from the show just a week after DailyMail.com shared the photographic proof of their alleged affair. So far, their future hangs up in the air.

The two have been pitching various networks. TJ and Amy are desperate to get back onto television. They think the viewers would like to see them have their own talk show, a la Live with Kelly and Ryan. Amy and TJ believe their relationship and chemistry would translate better on-screen than in a podcast. However, sources claim they’re only “casually” job searching during this time.
Yet, Amy and TJ are fixated on their next gig, which could be non-news related. Since they signed a non-compete clause with ABC, they can’t appear on a competing show. Instead, TJ and Amy would like to try out for Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars. They think they would be better suited for the show since it’s had GMA alumni like Ginger Zee and Sam Champion. Yet, it would be too risky to feature a couple who had an affair.
Fans want Sam Champion to co-host GMA3
In the meantime, ABC hasn’t announced TJ and Amy’s replacements. Many guest hosts have filled in for the couple. Recently, Dr. Jennifer Ashton co-hosted GMA3: What You Need to Know with DeMarco Morgan, Gio Benitez, Eva Pilgrim, and Phil Lopof. Yet, viewers would like to see Sam Champion in the third hour of the morning show.
One fan took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter. They wrote: “Sam Champion ould [SIC] make a GREAT permanent HOST! He has the personality and following to get the show back on track plus a great journalist as well as known meteorologist.”
Sam Champion caught wind of the comment. He responded with the following message: “Awwww. Thank u for ur kind words.” He also included the red heart emoji. However, Sam didn’t share if he would be willing to take on the role.
