Before Super Bowl LX kicked off on February 8, former Halftime Show performer Katy Perry shared encouraging words for this year’s performer, Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny is set to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 8 for the first time.
The Puerto Rican star will perform for 13 minutes in the middle of the NFL championship game that sees the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots face off. The last time these two teams played in the Super Bowl against each other was in 2015.
That year, the Halftime performer was Katy Perry, who performed a medley of her hits like Firework, California Girls, and Roar. Now as Bad Bunny gears up to take the stage, Katy shared some words of advice on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The mother of one wrote, “You got this @sanbenito remind the world what the real American dream looks like.”
Bad Bunny has faced a lot of controversy since he was announced as this year’s Halftime performer. Conservatives and supporters of MAGA were upset since Bad Bunny has been a staunch critic of Donald Trump and his crackdown on illegal immigration.

The most recent criticism came at the Grammy Awards, which aired live just one week prior to the Super Bowl. Bad Bunny won three awards that night — Best Global Music Performance for his song EoO, Best Música Urbana Album, and the prestigious Album of the Year for his latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
While accepting the Grammy for Best Música Urbana Album, the 31-year-old said that before he was going to thank the academy, his fans, and God, he would “say ICE out,” referring to the slogan that he and other celebrities wore pins stating at the award show in response to the violence in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as ICE agents have killed multiple protestors who wanted the government agents out of the state.
Bad Bunny added during his speech, “We are not savage. We are not animals, we are not aliens, we are humans, and we are Americans.”

“Also, I will say to people, I know it’s tough to know not to hate on these days and I was thinking sometimes, we get contaminados [contaminated], I don’t know how to say that in English,” he continued, “The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love.”
He concluded his speech saying, “So please, we need to be different if we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our family, and that’s the way to do it. With love. Don’t forget that, please. Thank you.”
