Fox News Praises Charlie Kirk’s Legacy
Many people around the country are still coming to terms with political activist Charlie Kirk’s death. The right-wing podcaster and author was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, in September. The alleged murderer was arrested days later and is in prison awaiting trial.
Charlie Kirk’s death sparked a discussion about free speech. Some legislatures have vowed to put a chapter of the activist’s nonprofit Turning Point USA in high schools across the country. During a recent episode of Outnumbered, the hosts discussed Charlie Kirk’s lasting legacy. Joe Concha praised Charlie Kirk’s declaration that people should marry young and have as many kids as possible.
The comments led to another anchor on the panel opening up about her many miscarriages.
Political Pundit Breaks Silence About Miscarriages & Child’s Death
Leslie Marshall joined Fox News as a contributor in 2009. She joined Joe Concha, Tomi Lahren, and Lisa Boothe on Thursday’s episode of Outnumbered. Tomi Lahren asked the liberal panelist if there’s anything the left can learn from Charlie Kirk’s legacy.
“I just think it’s great that young people, left or right, talk about politics and get involved in their community, especially when so many kids are, you know, on social media,” Leslie Marshall responded.
The Fox News guest added, “I want my children to hear everything and to make their own decisions. And they can’t just make a decision that’s not biased if they’re only hearing one biased side, whether it’s my side or another side.”
However, she disagreed a little with Charlie Kirk’s suggestion of marrying early. Leslie Marshall said that in some cases, a woman wants to get married but hasn’t met the right person yet or hasn’t been asked yet.
“I suffered 11 miscarriages and I have two children, one after adoption, one after 13 IVF cycles, and I have a son who died,” Leslie Marshall shared about her personal experience with marriage and having kids.
She continued, “So I just say that because I know that when people say you know get married and have children, it’s not as easy for everybody. There are a lot of women that struggle with infertility and just because a woman doesn’t have a child, left or right, it doesn’t mean that they don’t want a child, maybe they actually can’t have.”
Co-Hosts Offer Support
Joe Concha offered his condolences after the guest shared such deeply personal struggles. Lisa Boothe also offered her condolences. She said, “I hear what you’re saying, Leslie, and I’m so sorry that you went through that. I know that’s-, I’ve had friends who have gone through miscarriages — it’s heartbreaking. So I’m so sorry you went through that.”
The Cleveland Clinic says that one in four pregnancies ends in miscarriage. However, it’s only in recent years that the topic has been more openly discussed.
