NBC has abruptly canceled not one, not two, but three legendary shows today.
Access Hollywood, Karamo and The Steve Wilkos Show have all been canceled as NBCUniversal pulls the plug in a very abrupt move, which has left fans gutted.
According to Variety, the decision to axe the shows is a sign of “how hard it has become to draw an daytime TV audience in the era of YouTube and massive audience fragmentation”.
NBCUniversal said that marketplace conditions no longer support the traditional model of syndication.
Reacting to the news of Access Hollywood’s axing, one fan said on X, “Access Hollywood being cancelled is really feeling to me like the sign of the end of an era whoa.”
A second added, ” Damn. Didn’t think I’d see Access Hollywood end, but these shows have gone downhill so much. It’s time.”

In reaction to the news of The Steve Wilkos Show, another added, “My little sister is gonna be heartbroken, she’s been watching Steve daily since like 2007.”
“DAMMMMNNNNNN!!!!!! Steve too? Truly the end of an era,” added another.
“Goddamn Karamo AND Steve Wilkos?!?! what am i gonna watch at the laundromat???” said someone else in the wake of Karamo’s cancelation.
Meanwhile, other fans reacted to the news of all three being axed at once.
One person said: “Looks like the syndication era is finally ending.”
“An apocalyptic moment for the business of syndicated television,” penned a second.
While a third said, “Syndicated TV is really done.”
And a fourth penned, “End of a era.”
NBCUniversal said in a statement that they are “making changes to our first-run syndication division to better align with the programming preferences of local stations”.
Frances Berwick, chairman of Bravo & Peacock Unscripted, went on to add, “The company will remain active in the distribution of our existing program library and other off-network titles, while winding down production of our first-run shows.
“These shows have provided audiences with great talk and entertainment content for many years and we’re very proud of the teams behind them.”
According to Deadline, “The move is expected to result in layoffs, both in terms of crew of the sunsetted shows and NBCU first-run executives.”
NBCUniversal previously announced its flagship daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show would also wrap up this year after seven seasons on air.
