Jesse Watters made an awkward statement during a segment on Fox News.

The conservative commentator was presenting on his show, Jesse Watters Primetime, and spoke about Donald Trump wanting to control Greenland. Watters praised the president and slammed other media sites for their coverage of portraying Trump’s Greenland plans as a bad thing.

But he didn’t exactly phrase it like that, deciding to criticize the media as a whole. “This is why you can’t trust the media,” he declared awkwardly on the conservative media channel.

“All week — what they tell us — Trump was going to attack Greenland,” he continued. “We were going to go to war with NATO, fracture the alliance.”

“They said he was mentally ill. But wait, Trump and the NATO chief are setting up a deal for Greenland. And there’s not going to be any trade war. Any war. And Marco [Rubio] and JD Vance are going to work out the details,” he added.

Watters concluded, “Europe and America are going to be rich and safe. And Greenland gets a McDonald’s. It’s a win for everybody.”

Fans responded to a clip of the moment on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Watters spewing Fox lies again Trump’s Greenland obsession is straight-up colonial delusion, not a ‘deal,'” one person wrote.

“Media called him nuts? Spot on. ‘Win’ with McDonald’s? That’s just obesity export to indigenous land. Pathetic bootlicking,” they added.

Another bluntly put it, “Duh…you are the so called media.”

Watters has also come under fire for the general praise of Trump, gushing over the president’s “amazing plans” to take over Greenland. He then declared, “Notice what they never call Trump dumb, because they know he’s smart, and that’s what scares them the most.”

People slammed Watters on social media for that comment as well, with one person writing, “This is a profoundly dumb person calling another profoundly dumb person smart. Jesse Watters once asked if trains had wheels. When someone on his crew told him that they did he pushed back. No kidding. He’s that stupid.”
