Jake and Romy Reiner are relying on their close sibling bond as they navigate grief after their parents Rob and Michele were found dead in their LA mansion – their brother Nick has been charged with murder
Rob and Michele Reiner’s children, Jake and Romy, are leaning on their “strong bond” to cope with the tragic killings of their parents, friends have revealed.
Rob and Michele were allegedly killed by their son Nick after a night out with friends. Reports suggest that Nick and Rob had a confrontation at the gathering, which was held at Conan O’Brien’s home, mere hours before the deadly stabbing. News sources have reported that their throats had been slashed in the violent assault.

Nick, who has struggled with substance abuse issues throughout the years and has undergone multiple stints in rehabilitation, was brought to the event as his parents allegedly worried about leaving him alone. Their son has since been charged with their murder and is currently awaiting trial.
Jake, 34, and Romy, 28, are reportedly supporting each other as they process their grief after losing their cherished parents, who were discovered in their Los Angeles home earlier this month. An insider revealed, “This nightmare isn’t even over for Romy and Jake.”
Reports indicate that Romy found her parents’ bodies after she allegedly went to the residence when a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment reported getting no response at the door. It’s understood Romy “raised the alarm” with police officers, reports the Mirror.

The insider went on to reveal to PEOPLE magazine, “There is a lot more to be done, but they’ve been surrounded by loved ones and support in all forms, and that will continue. Romy and Jake have been close since they were young. That strong bond has really helped them in the last two weeks.”
The family acquaintance explained to the outlet that the siblings have attempted to maintain some semblance of “normalcy” in a frantic effort to avoid succumbing to grief-induced depression. The pair have therefore been taking walks and handling daily tasks, though it’s “all still so new and overwhelming.”
Nick remains detained at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. Reports indicate he is receiving treatment for schizophrenia.
Officials determined the couple’s cause of death resulted from “multiple sharp force injuries,” inflicted with a knife.
Their deaths were formally classified as homicides. In a unified statement issued by Jake and Romy shortly after their parents’ deaths became public, the siblings expressed, “Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day.”

The statement went on, “The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends. We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life.”
Jake and Romy wrapped up their message by saying: “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”
Rob and Michele were familiar faces in Hollywood’s inner circle, including actor Billy Crystal, who appeared in Rob’s 1989 movie When Harry Met Sally. A representative for Jake and Romy issued a statement at the time stating: “Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received.”
The spokesperson continued: “They will share information about a memorial service honouring their parents at a later date.”

Reports indicated that Nick had attended rehab facilities on at least 18 occasions throughout his struggle with addiction.
Nick’s defense lawyer, Alan Jackson, explained to TMZ, “Every inmate has to be medically cleared before they can be transported to court. He has not been medically cleared; it is just a procedural issue.”
