The rumor claims that the 37-year-old CEO of Turning Point USA is dating American football coach Lane Kiffin, four months after her husband was assassinated at his Turning Point USA gathering at Utah Valley University on September 10.
The viral claim, which has no concrete proof, was first shared by a user on X named Shane Tuttle. He shared a photo of both Erika, who recently opened up about her faith following her husband’s death, and Kiffin, captioned, “Lane Kiffin and Erika Kirk are reportedly dating.” It comes asDonald Trump ‘freezes’ live on Fox News as fans say ‘we need a doctor’.
Several rumors have spread online about Erika following Charlie’s death, all with the intention of defaming and discrediting her.
The latest rumor about the conservative’s dating life is not credible for a couple of reasons. It has not been reported on by any news agency.

Additionally, the bio of the X user who has spread the viral claim states, “Everything I do is Satire,” thereby proving the claim to be false.
A fact check by Grok, the AI assistant of X, said of the viral tweet, “No, this isn’t true. The post comes from a satirical account, and my searches find no credible sources confirming Lane Kiffin is dating Erika Kirk (Charlie Kirk’s widow). It’s likely just a joke.”
However, social media users on Instagram’s Threads discussed the rumor, believing it to be true, with one person writing, “Lane Kiffin left Ole Miss for Erika Kirk. What in the whole milk hell are we doing here?”
Another chimed in, “Lane Kiffin and Erika Kirk are reportedly dating. I’ve mourned the loss of an item on the Taco Bell menu longer than this woman has mourned her husband.”
Someone who had no idea who Lane Kiffin was said, “wtf is a Lane Kiffin,” as a fourth added, “I am so jealous of anyone who doesn’t know who Lane Kiffin is.”

Yet another said, “I said ‘allegedly’ bc I don’t think it’s been confirmed. There were reports about her and Tom Brady (apparently from a satire account) and then I saw something about a guy named Lane Kifflin which sounds like a made up.”
A similar rumor surfaced earlier on Wednesday, January 14. X account @HoopsCrave posted pictures of Tom Brady and Erika Kirk, along with the claim, “Tom Brady and Erika Kirk are reportedly dating.”
Again, the post did not cite any news articles or social media posts to back the claim. However, the rumor was shared by several other X users.
The spreading of rumors about Erika’s love life follows her opening up about her faith in a late December interview with Fox News.
She said that she communicates directly with God. “What are your conversations like with him now?” the interviewer asked.

“I’ve never questioned ‘why me?'” Erika said. “I always knew that my life was not just to be lived by me. We’re here for such a greater purpose, and Charlie and I both knew that.”
She recited, “God heal my heart. You know my pain, you know the depths of my pain, walk through this with me, put the people in my path that will help heal me and guide me and direct me and keep me in lockstep with your will.”
During Charlie’s memorial service, Erika forgave the man who shot and killed her husband in a remarkable moment.
“I keep getting the same question, how could you forgive him?.. And the answer to me just seems so simple,” Erika said. “You trust in the lord, and when you trust in the Lord, you do it.”
She added, “Faith is so powerful when it’s lived out. I don’t have this massive in depth answer. God is good. The world is evil.”
