Savannah Guthrie’s mother Nancy was last seen on Saturday night in Tucson, Arizona, and she has been missing ever since – and the search for the 84-year-old woman is ongoing

The sheriff has offered a glimmer of hope in providing an update on the continuing search for Savannah Guthrie’s mom.
Nancy Guthrie was last spotted at her Tucson, Arizona, residence on Saturday evening. She was reported missing on Sunday after a church member contacted a relative to say the 84 year old hadn’t shown up, leading her family to check her house before dialing 911.
Following Nancy’s disappearance, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos voiced concerns about her welfare, noting she depends on daily medication that was left at home – and without it, her life could be in danger. But in a recent interview with NBC’s Liz Kreutz, broadcast on the Today Show on February 4, the sheriff stated authorities remain optimistic that Nancy is still alive.
“We have nothing else to go on but the belief that she is here,” he said. “She’s present. She’s alive, and we want to save her.”
He mentioned that the sheriff’s office is getting “critical” leads that are being passed along to the FBI as the hunt for the missing woman continues, reports the Irish Star.

Nancy was last observed on Saturday evening at her upscale Catalina Foothills neighborhood home where she resided by herself. A source close to the investigation revealed there were indications of forced entry at the residence and multiple personal belongings, including Nancy’s cellphone, wallet and vehicle, were all still at the property.
Authorities were examining security footage from neighboring residences and data from local license plate recognition systems, while also scrutinizing cellphone tower information, according to sources. Today Show anchor Savannah, who has been absent from her broadcasting duties since her mother’s disappearance, expressed gratitude to everyone assisting the family – and urged people to keep Nancy in their prayers for her safe return.
She posted on Instagram, “We believe in prayer. we believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. we believe in goodness. we believe in humanity. above all, we believe in Him.
“Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.”

She ended with, “Bring her home.”
Prior to Nancy’s vanishing, audiences became familiar with her through her daughter’s program. Savannah has praised her mother for keeping their family united following her father’s passing, sharing on Today in 2017, “When my dad died, our family just hung onto each other for dear life because it was such a shock. We were just trying to figure out how to become a family of four when we’d always been a family of five.”
During a segment Savannah filmed about her birthplace last year, Nancy was questioned about what drew the family to establish themselves in Tucson during the 1970s. She responded, “It’s so wonderful. Just the air, the quality of life. It’s laid back and gentle.”
