An unnamed insider has come forward with details about the tip that launched the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1 after allegedly not appearing at her regular 11 a. m church service in Tucson, Arizona. The 84-year-old was last seen the night before when her son-in-law dropped her off at home after a family meal.

When she failed to attend church, Nancy’s family grew worried and alerted authorities, who discovered blood on the front door and evidence of forced entry, suggesting she may have been abducted.

After Nancy went missing, her daughter, Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie, made an emotional appeal for her mother’s safe return.

In an Instagram post, standing alongside her two siblings, Savannah described her mother: “She is funny, spunky, and clever. She has grandchildren who adore her, and crowd around her, and cover her with kisses. She loves fun and adventure. She is a devoted friend. She is full of kindness and knowledge. Talk to her, and you’ll see.”

Savannah’s sister Annie also made a heartfelt plea for her mother’s return, addressing the abductor: “We are always going to be merely human. Just normal human people who need our mom. Mama, if you’re listening, we need you to come home. We miss you.”

When Nancy initially disappeared, reports indicated that her family became concerned after learning she had missed church. However, an insider has now disclosed that Nancy hadn’t attended services in person for several years.

A source speaking to the Daily Mail revealed that Nancy Guthrie had not physically attended St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church since the Covid-19 pandemic began, choosing instead to participate in worship “online.”

The church, where Nancy had been a congregant for 30 years, conducts three Sunday service Zoom sessions each week. Yet, despite the source’s claims, Irish Star US has learned that participants are required to register using their full names to access the virtual gatherings.

This means anyone with access to the attendance records could have verified whether the 84-year-old was present.

Nevertheless, the unnamed source spoke warmly of Nancy, stating, “It’s a big church, and we know everyone. Nancy is known and loved here and in the whole community. She was a faithful member here for so long, just a lovely person.”

Interestingly, although Nancy had belonged to St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church for 30 years, her memorial vigil took place at a different location. On February 4, parishioners and supporters gathered at Saint Philip’s in the Hills, the church attended by Nancy’s daughter, Annie.

Although this wasn’t Nancy’s usual place of worship, she is known to participate in special services there throughout the year. Savannah Guthrie was not believed to have been present at the vigil.
