Michael Strahan has had a tough year. Last year around this time, his daughter Isabella Strahan was diagnosed with brain cancer. Strahan appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week and spoke about the year. He also gave an update on his daughter.
Here is what Strahan had to say about what the last year has felt like.
Michael Strahan Talks Tough Past Year
During Michael Strahan’s 20th visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he spoke to Fallon about several lighter topics, including golf, disgusting drinks, and more. However, then things turned a little serious with a conversation about Isabella Strahan and her cancer battle.
“Isabella’s great. Yeah, she’s cancer-free,” Michael said. The crowd all cheered, and Jimmy looked very happy about the news as well. Jimmy then toughed Michael on the shoulder and said he didn’t know how he would deal with it.
“It was a rough year, but we got through it,” Strahan said. “She’s cancer-free. She’s back in college.”
Jimmy Fallon was very happy about this news, saying, “You are my hero. You were so strong and so cool. I love her so much. I’m so happy.”
They then moved to some more uplifting news. Michael Strahan’s oldest daughter, Taninta, had a new baby the day before, making him a grandfather. His grandchild’s name is Onyx.
Isabella Strahan Back At College
Isabella Strahan had a tough year, diagnosed last year with medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer. She had to go through chemotherapy and had to have holes drilled into her head to release fluid build-up. By July, she was ringing the bell and finished her treatment with her dad, Michael Strahan, by her side.
When Isabella learned she had cancer, she was preparing to start her freshman year at USC. She had her brain tumor removed in October 2023, and the chemotherapy has worked in removing the cancer from her body. This means that she has been able to resume her college career at USC, where she returned this semester.
While her social media videos have lessened since her cancer battle ended, she recently posted a video dancing with a friend in her apartment. It seems like Isabella has finally started to return to the life of a college student once again and enjoy the life she always deserved.
Michael Strahan said that the last year has been tough, but Isabella came out on the other side.
